
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His breakthrough role was as Thomas Magnum (private investigator) in Magnum. He was nominated for five Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Lead Actor In the Drama Series (1980-1988) as well as was awarded the Emmy Award in 1985. In the show Blue Bloods, Selleck has been a part of the character Frank Reagan, New York City Police Commissioner. In nine TV films that are based on the Robert B. Parker novels He played Jesse Stone, a troubled small-town police chief, beginning in 2005. Selleck also starred in Three Men and a Baby (1987) as well as Three Men and a Little Lady(1990). In addition to his role in Magnum, P.I., Selleck has appeared in over 50 films and television shows, which include the movies Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter, baseball. He played the frequent TV character of Monica Geller's love interest Dr. Richard Burke in Friends, as Lance White (the likeable but unassuming character) on The Rockford Files and as A.J. Cooper on Las Vegas. He also had a lead role in the western television film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran and a spokesperson for the National Rifle Association (NRA) and an endorser for advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
