
Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27th 1977. He grew up in the southern part of California and attended Huntington Beach High School where Gonzalez was a star player on both the basketball and football teams. Gonzalez was a star in both sports at the University of California. He helped lead the football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. Here, Gonzalez set the record for school bowls with nine receptions. Gonzalez then led the basketball team to Sweet 16 in the NCAA basketball tournament a few months later. After that, he left the school for the 1997 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as the 13th overall pick. Gonzalez played with the Chiefs from 1997 to the year 2008. Gonzalez was transferred to the Atlanta Falcons. Beginning in his second year in the NFL and never catching less than 59 passes during the course of a season.
