Anne Lockhart (born Anne Kathleen Maloney Sept. 6, 1953) is known as an American actor in the film industry. She was best known as Lieutenant Sheba on the TV show Battlestar Galactica ( 1978-1979). The actress is the daughter and granddaughter of actors Gene Lockhart. Her professional journey began young. The film T is for Tumbleweed, Lockhart's first film role came at four years old. The short film that dealt with a theme was nominated for an Academy Award. She learned how to run the company from her mother while on set. Lockhart also appeared in a few seasons of Lassie. Her debut film came out as Dora in Jory in 1972. The Sixth Sense was a program on television that was aired in 1972. She was 18, she played Joan Crawford, Joan's daughter. This was her last role as an actor. Many believe that Anne did not want to play Laurie Strode for John Carpenter's Halloween, a film from 1978. Jaime Lee Curtis was chosen to play the role. Carpenter has claimed that she was interested however she decided to decline. Anne isn't sure if she remembers John Carpenter contacting her or offer the part. There is a chance that an agent declined the role on her behalf, without notifying her. The initial decision was for the part by Glen Larson who sent her a very preliminary script for an appearance in the 1978 TV series Battlestar Galactica. Initially, she rejected the character because it seemed too weak. Glen then wrote her an even stronger character with Sheba. After having read the first 25 pages of script The Living Legend she accepted immediately. The show ran for just one season. The actress co-starred on Joyride alongside Desi Arnaz Jr., Melanie Griffith (the daughter of Desi Arnaz Jr. and Lucille Bell), Robert Carradine and Melanie Griffith in 1977 and in The Dark Tower with Michael Moriarty (1987).
